O Cais is a place of arrival and connection. A little heaven in the heart of Silves, created to be there for people and to foster a sense of community.
A place where wholesome food and drinks are served, stories are shared, creativity inspires, and knowledge is exchanged.
Since 1765
This building has existed since 1765. At its heart lies an ancient well connecting the river to the castle. Water has always passed through here, and so have people.
Today, O Cais continues that movement — creating a calm and caring atmosphere where everything and everyone circulates freely.
O Cais — "The Quay"
The name O Cais means "The Quay" or "The Dock" in Portuguese — a place of arrival and departure, where journeys begin and end, where people come and go, and where the river meets the town.
Just like the quay along the Rio Arade, O Cais is a meeting point — a place to pause, connect, and set off again refreshed.
