# O Cais > Eco Shop, Cafe & Food in the heart of Silves, Algarve, Portugal. A place of arrival and connection since 1765. O Cais is a vegan and vegetarian cafe, eco shop and community space located in a historic building from 1765, by the Roman bridge along the Rio Arade in Silves, Portugal. "O Cais" means "The Quay" or "The Dock" in Portuguese — a meeting point where journeys begin and end. ## What We Do - **Cafe & Food**: 100% plant-based cuisine made in-house in small batches with organic, local and farm-to-table ingredients. Famous for our vegan Pastel de Nata and daily changing lunch specials. Gluten-free options available. - **Eco Shop**: Handcrafted local art and ceramics, sustainable personal care products, second-hand treasures and unique gifts by Algarve artists and makers. - **Loose Leaf Tea**: Curated organic tea selection including house signature blends, black and green teas, rooibos, herbal tisanes and warm latte creations.
